I have taken you alls advice and purchased a varmit gun. The 20 guage is an "all around" for the farm, not a great thing to be firing off in the chicken barn.

I bought a 410 SAIGA semi auto off of Gunbroker.com

My FFL says he has those 410 shells that every one is using in thier "judges".

I can not afford the Taurus revolver right now. The Saiga was really cheap and I have a Saiga in .308 that my son in law has "borrowed". He is a X Marine type.

I walked into the barn about 9 PM this evening, just to make sure all was good. Every one was relaxed and roosting well.

The cats were chasing the mice (a nightly ritual for them, however I do not think it is for a meal) and a sense of calm came over me. It sure is nice that summer is here, so much less stressful for the animals.
