Possum in the run this morning!

Those captions on the pics are cracking me up. That fox is killing me.

I toss melon,corn,or marshmallows in my trap. I have had something eating the carrots I tossed in. Ants will eat up the melons and peanut butter. Shoot the possums if you can. I read they can *play dead* and revive 6 or more hours later.Makes me wonder if I was *killing* the same possums over and over,lol.

Possums will actually REALLY play dead, they will release a foul liquid out of their mouths and anus to convince you they are dead, and do the completely relaxed muscle thing to boot! I work for a wild animal rescue, I have scooped up "dead" possums full of babies, brought them to the shelter, and had the lady there find a little tiny faint heartbeat going on. They are REALLY good at playing dead.

So glad you took care of the problem before it got to your chickens! Honestly, if there was one of those nasty animals in my chicken run I'd have to kill it. Yuck!
