Possum problem

Good idea, but put the cat food as far from the chickens as you can. Raccoons love the stuff too, and that's one set of houseguests you definitely DON'T want to encourage!
True. But I think if there is a readily available food source, they are less likely to go after the chickens. Putting the food at a distance is a good idea.
 
Thank you so much! That is good to know. Raccoons aren’t really a problem where I live but I will still keep my eyes peeled!
Our dogs pick up the scent of coons or possums before we ever see them here.They always come out after the dogs come in for the night. I don't have issues with anything because my coops predator proof but nothings written in stone.The first time I forget to lock a door or latch the nest box could be the last time I ever see my chickens alive.
