yea they are nocturnal and we have em all over our back yard and a coon that ive been after for the past month lol it wont leave

Possums will get chickens.... and they are a good judge of quality because they would always get my best hens !!!

I just lost my very first hen to a possum and for that I shot it right between the eyes. Made me feel better.

I have an opossum who just comes for the food that the chickens eat. Ticks me off that I have to fill the feeders so often and that it climbs underneath the run at night. Maybe they only attack if they are really hungry. Anyone else have this type of experience?

If you can grab them by the tail, you can pretty much do whatever you want with them
If you scare them enough, they roll over and "play dead".
Actually it's more like a state of shock, and they are unable to move for a while

Possums have been around for millions of years, and are very interesting creatures. ( But I shoot them if they get in the chicken coop too)
