Post hatch yolk-belly chick - final Update

My guys starting rocking the eggs yesterday, and have started hatching today. So maybe late tonight, early tomorrow, yours will start pipping! It's just amazing to watch...it's taken my first one 8 hours to hatch since first pip. You just wait til it starts hatching, OMG!

I'm on day 22 and so far nothing!!!!

I wish I could hear a peep. This is our first hatch and I can't wait! That is exciting. Heck I'd be happy if the little buggers would move. I know they were fine when we took them off the turner. we candled them and they all had growth and movement inside, but 22 days and nothing. Congradulations on yours.

I got one that exploded out of the egg! Started peeping and wiggling yesterday morning and at 4 a.m. out it came!

Out of 8 eggs and only one...but I guess that's better than none at all!

This is my first hatch and it's very exciting!

I thought I saw another egg wiggle but nothing...I hope at least one more hatches so the new peeper has a friend!

They don't seem to have made progress beyond the first pip so far. Is that normal? (nervous first timer, can't you tell?) I worry about them being able to break the membrane.

LocoPollo - how is your humidity? are they peeping?
- sometimes it just takes that long....last hatch i had two like that - one finally hatched with no help, one zipped halfway around the egg and then died.
- its hard to know what to do...it is up to you, but i would give them more time to do it on their own...
Good luck...sending good wishes your way!

Well, Humidity has been my concern. I have a new rcom 20 pro and yet the humidity won't go above 62%. I am hoping that is enough, but I am worried.....

62 % is pretty good, I don't think you have to worry...just be patient....just remember, if you let them do it own their own and they don't make it out then its not your fault...

IMO - if you intervene and then they don't make it, it feels more like it could have been your fault (I have experienced this).

One of mine didn't do ANYTHING after the first pip....over 12 hours! I wasn't sure what was wrong. But when he did decide to finish the job...he came outta that egg like gang busters! They'll be fine...just be patient.
