I like it too. It has definitely got it's differences, but for the most part, they're good

Look at the bottom the first page in this thread....
It shows how many MORE post left in the thread.

I don't know what you speak of mine just says Prev, 1, and 2

Was searching 'post numbers'...this was first result.
Still labeled as 'investigating'...but maybe it was resolved in another thread?

What about the old function of being able to key in post number while in thread?
Is there any way to search out a specific post number within a thread,
other than guessing what page until you hit it?

I don't think so.
If it helps any: I think there are only 10 posts per page.

Yeah...but.....some threads are thousands of posts.
I did just find this little tool to page thru the page numbers:

you can also type in the page numbe in the web address:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/post-numbers.1173267/page-2

see on this it says page-2 at the end, if it were a longer thread you could type whatever number you wanted, the post # works similarly, say if you wanted post #302 you would type in page number-31
