I got my first set of shipped eggs and over half are busted! Is there anything I can do at the post office since the box was clearly marked FRAGILE, HATCHING EGGS? Ugggh very frustrating!!

It depends. Were they packed well and was there insurance on the package? If not then I don't think much can be done. I would definitely talk to the person you bought them from and see what they can do since it's possible they didn't do a good job of packing the eggs.

It really depends on the way they were shipped, in my opinion. My first hatch I had all but two smashed. They sent another batch free of charge, but it took some evidence. It was definitely poorly packaged. Since, after several orders, I have seen how eggs should be packaged.

I doubt there is much you can do. If they were insured then you'd have to file the paper work and wait for the money. They are tricky with that stuff too. If it's not a rare and unreplaceable then your out of luck. They don't tell you this or you wouldn't buy insurance and they'd make no money.

Also it depends on how well they were packed and whose fault it was. Did you take pictures? Gotta have pictures.

If the seller didn't pack them properly then it's on them. Some folks post some amazingly poor packing job pics.

Had a friend get some packed in popcorn. It's no wonder only three out of 24 hatched. Shipped eggs are iffy and you have to accept the risk. No one is allowed to say I got eggs from so in so and they were packed bad and they arrived in bad shape.

I would contact the seller. The PO is not always at fault in these matters. Believe me I worked for them for more than eighteen years and I've seen some crazy packaging.

Sorry hope things work out.

I ordered 15 hatching eggs for ebay and it was 15 shipping, and I am glad i paid it, they were all not broken, and they were packaged so well. i just hope that when the post office set the box on its side, they are still ok. becuase the box said fragile on it!

I've gotten shipped eggs 3 times and never had and broken. The packaging was very good with each egg in bubble wrap. My neighbor got some on ebay and half were broken and the whole box smelled of rotten eggs. I think it has a lot to do with how well are package.
