Hi yall. Hoping you can help. Monday night i noticed one of my girls crop was really swollen, so i brought her inside for the night. It was a mix of squish and grit and some hard spots, bigger than a softball. Not much liquid coming out when i inverted her. I was able to push a little to the gizzard, but not much. I massaged her and let her be.
Tuesday i decided to operate on her crop. She was full of straw, food and grit. Sewed her back up, gave her some water and stayed her in amoxicillin. She wouldn't keep the dressing on so i put ointment on it and let her be. She did really well and was acting normal, even before i opened her up.

I notice before bed last night that the incision looked macerated, but i thought maybe some of the saline was trapped between the skin.

A little while ago, i brushed against the incision and pink tones liquid came out. I also notice a gurgling sound when she drinks. She's still acting normal and just wants to come out of the crate. I'm wondering if i either didn't stitch the crop up enough (did the crop and skin seperate) or if the stitches didn't hold. Should i open her back up and recheck the stitches? If she was acting sick or in pain i would just cull her (actually, i would have my husband do it i cant!!) But she's acting totally normal!

Thanks

As long as she is not leaking from the incision, I would leave her alone - providing food and water frequently in limited quantities.
