Here is a pic of their Daddy. Notice the 5 gallon water jug in front of him. All of our Orpingtons are gentle and easy to handle. Good Luck!!!

This is Butter in her old coop (before the chickens were moved to a bigger coop) apparently she got broody in one of the laying boxes. She hisses at me but doesn't bite when I reach out my hand. Big grumpy Butter hissing at me. " I see you there!"

Agreed! Broodies totally crack me up! One I have will scream bloody murder, another hisses like this one, and the rest just growl. But none of my buffs will actually attack or peck me EXCEPT a hatchery one. She broods only, never gets any of her eggs hatched.

Butter is the same too! I let her brood a batch of eggs twice and every time she would crush most of them, once she became so pale I thought that she could die.
