So my BOs are integrating well with the EE/OE. My roo is still standing between them and his BO. Its sweet but I hope it won't cause any issues??? The BOs are 7mo and the others are 18wks

Yay! Treats and patience go a long way.

Actually I did not use treats I did at the start but my BO just took them then ran away so in the end I just gave up instead whenever I went to see her I would pick her up and stroke her then put her on a chair so I seemed less big then stroke her some more till she calmed down then sit on the floor with her on my lap and more stroking then put her on the floor this is usually when she runs away then if she does not run away I stand up and stroke her so she gets use to my normal size then I walk away and walk back to her so she gets use to me approaching her :)

Wow! This is dedication.

Hi I have a few questions that I'm not sure about and wanted to get some of talks thoughts on please:) I have my dads banny hen who is at least 5 years old but hasn't laid in about a year but to my knowledge have always pecked and we think has eaten her eggs, she's always been fed laying mash or pellets and or scratch feed until we got my lavender chicks and she's been eating chick starter feed. My questions are since she is in the own with the tired hens and rooster and they should start laying soon is will she teach them her bad habbit? Should I just go ahead and separate her from them? Also I was thinking that it may have been from my parents hearing from someone to crush eggshells from eggs we've cooked, to feed her when they were feeding her the scratch? She will probably peck their eggs?

I have always fed back my eggshells. I keep them in a coffee can or bowl without a lid so they dry up and then crush them fine. I have never had a chicken that would deliberately break an egg to eat it. I have had PLENTY of episodes where someone lays a thin shelled or shell-less egg which gets broken, causing a feeding frenzy. Sometimes there is not even a speck left, just a wet spot and a smear of yolk on any other egg in the nest.

When one is laying shell less eggs or has thin shells, first I make sure they have oyster shell (sometimes I've missed topping them up), I'll feed any egg shells I"ve accumulated and I will also feed something like buttermilk or yogurt for a few days. This seems to help and in three to five days all shells are hard again.

I have to agree with others tho that at her age she may best be ready for the stew pot since it seems she's done laying.

My BO is getting use to me but is being quite mean
Last night i went see her and she was ok
Then this morning I went to see her and I fed her some food and she purposefully bite me not just bite she twisted my skin and pulled and pinched even though there was a big bit on my hand she still bite me some times she would completely miss the food and just bite me instead
Then I went to see her tonight and she was being nice taking only the food and not biting me
Why is she doing this
I got her when she was 14 weeks and she is being really hard to tame when BO are soppost to be easy to tame I tryed taming her with treats but that just made her flighty spoilt as well as mean so I stopped doing that although I am always the one bringing them food and I always feed her by hand
HELP Please all I want is a nice chicken who is tame and likes cuddles
My last hen I got was a lot older than my BO when I got her about 2 years maybe 4 years but see died of some illness not sure what and she was lovely
ahhh Ember RIP

When you have a hen that is aggressive, you can show her that you are the top hen and you won't tolerate it.

What I do is to grab a hen as soon as she even approaches me with that mean look in her eye, or starts to attack, and hold her down with my hands, so that she is resting on the ground (don't hurt her). Make her sit like that on the ground, with your hands covering her back. Then release her after several seconds. This shows her that I am the top hen.

No hen will allow another hen to attack or peck unless she is under that hen in the pecking order. She is saying that you are lower, and you should move out of the way.

One of my nice sweet Buff Orps tried that on me a couple of years ago and gave me a bruise! But I grabbed her (and this went on with repeated attacks against me over the span of a minute or so) and did as above, and she never tried it again. My Buffs are very sweet and I don't even know which one it was.
