Lol! They love each other but now the chicks are getting older the pecking order is coming into it and Bella has been stupid not to remind the Welsummer who is boss because at the minute, Lilly thinks she is the boss of Bella! Bella has made it clear with her little Speckled Sussex sister who is boss, but she seems to be softer with Lilly who is like Bella number 2! They leveled up to each other the other day and Bella just walked off! Was a silly move because the longer she leaves it the bigger the chick will get!

Bella's mother still has such an evil look to her! Remember the time I put my head through the pop hole and she pecked me in the face? and the time she cut my hand and ripped a bit of my dogs black skin off his nose?!

I'm trying to figure how a hatching plan for next year because I think all 3 orps will go broody but at different times. It would be great if they would go at the same time so I could just split the eggs between them!

I think it's quite sad that Daisy is growing apart form her baby now. The poor thing is left to go through the pecking order alone. Also, does anyone else think her chick is under grown for 10 weeks?

Daisy's Sussex chick is soooooooooo adorable...bless her heart...she'll be on the bottom of the pecking order for awhile I'd bet. It's so nice to have at least 1 hatch buddy for this reason too. Sometimes it does not work out that way. Perhaps get more hatching eggs next go round to insure at least a few hatch out. Hard to tell on the chick's size since we're seeing her alongside large Orps mostly. Perhaps photographing her with something common to reference her size better.
