Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Have you considered it may be a mottled? Hatching pure white could mean it has a double dose of silver gene also. Plus many blacks have white in the wing areas till they molt into their final plumage. You need to wait till the bird is in it 's mature plumage to ascertain what it really is.

Beautiful Orpingtons!!! I'm new to BYC and Orpingtons. I have 2 white Orpingtons that are 7-8 weeks old. I'm not totally sure if pullets or roos but they are the cutest funniest chicks! Just white puff balls that love running and trying to fly. :)

Hi can anyone tell me how to post 4 sale ads and pics I have some really pretty Jubilee chicks and Juveniles I want to sell also have some really pretty reds too.If any one could help I'd appreciate it thanks!!!

I am a first time chicken owner. I started with 2 barred rock hens. Shortly after I picked up my first chicks. 3 more rock hens and 3 buff orpington hens, and my son convinced me to get him a rooster. If I hadn't read how docile buffs are, there would be no rooster...lol. My rocks are quick and smart, and my buffs are slow and not so smart. I like both. My buffs are definitely bigger and easier to sex, I sexed them myself at the store after watching a YouTube video. The barred rocks were already sexed. At almost 3 weeks old it is impossible not to tell the difference between my rooster and buff hens. The first picture shows the darker buff chick. That is my rooster without wing feathers like the girls have. Poor guy is the only one who can't roost yet. I however am waiting to see if my barred Molly turns out to be a Mike instead, as they do not have the large wing feathers like the beautiful buffs. The single chick pictured is Dee Dee. She is the biggest and the easiest going. I am excited to see how these little chicks turn out. I'm hoping at least 1 will be a good mommy, as that is why I

picked them.

Awe, very cute. I'm raising my very first BR and orps also. They are 9 weeks now and full of it. Very fun age :) I'm thinking of getting a rooster next year. I'm very interested in how your rooster experience goes. Keep us updated. Thanks :)

Oh, yeah. That's cockerel. Look at those WATTLES!

i know! And he likes me to rub them! Weird bird. I have another BO who is most decidedly not a roo! These are all still pretty young. Literally, in three days time I went from my two BO pullets to, "uh-oh! Got a BO cockerel!" Work kept me from seeing them for those three days. Imagine my surprise when he jumped in my lap that day! He's really the most affectionate of the whole bunch! Hope it lasts, but figure it won't.

My Orp boy stopped wanting attention from me at about 5 months. He won't even take a treat anymore! But so far *knock on wood* he's still very well mannered with me and completely ignores the dog. And he's adorable with his girls. He gets so excited when he gets to call them to some new treat he's found (aka something new I've brought up to them, LOL!).
