Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I hear ya. I agree the more folks who work on whites, the better the population and genetic diversity. It is a shame so few are interested in raising this beautiful color variety. I'm happy to help anyone with white orps. Mine aren't perfect, but we're focused on improving them and hoping to build more interest in them.

IF what I am told works, I can easily make a half dozen unique White Orp lines using only Orpingtons and not the back up ROCK plan. I have 4 diferent Black lines in addition to the mongrel BUS line. And have as many Buff lines. All from decent stock. My Capt RON line is the least popular to the ORP fans. To me their my secret weapon for our Whites. I can't wait to get everyone fired up and laying from these young birds. And I will be sharing.

Bill - YOU ARE A MAD CHICKEN SCIENTIST!!!!!

Hinkjc - If I had more room I'd be all over some whites!! Hopefully in a year or so we'll be moving to a place with more room and I'll take you up on your offer! I'm loving me some orps!!

I was told by a local (LLB) here in INDY to do something with his Akers Buffs. I doubt he thought White Orpington would be in the plan. lololol
Dang I am doing something. Not sure where it will take me.

I really would like to be able to take FULL credit for creating the Captain RON line. But NOOOOOOoooo, LLB sent me an email saying there is a $6 Buff Orp cock on Craigslist last MAY. So, I can't legitimately say I found the Capt.
Larry is the MAD guy.
Here is the fruits of his mind

Can you see any similarities? In the way the comb sets? The Tail? Those horible wing feathering are a dead give away.

You can't listen to Jim!!! He's got more than me!!! Way more. I'm doing good on my half acre country lot. Ive got buff orps, blue and splash orps and 2 lines of bantam salmon favs going. And no one is over crowded!!........ yet!

Jim - I got Annslee signed up for 4H today so she can show at state. Apparently we don't have a "poultry" group, just a "livestock" group and no "official" leader....hmmmm!!?? Did you see my youngsters on page 159? Ready for some competition come spring?
