I think it does depend on the recessive traits that is hidden in your Blue. I have the one mix which is from a Buff on Black and he turned out a Silvery looking cock. Our Club Secretary I believe used a Black to her White and was able to get a few Whites. But, there is probably a recessive Silver gene in her Blacks backround to get anything White. I am using a Black Cockerel as seen in a couple of my previous posts who is son of my Silvery mix, knowing that Silver trait is in his genetics led me to HOPE he would throw it to my only lonely White pullet. I should know within a month or two IF in fact he has that trait. She is from a very inbred White Orp line and is not as frequent a layer. But, has laid before so I have hope. And once she gets to laying I am bringing in another son of my Buff/Black cock who has Silver leaking all over to retest this trait. I would expect if you take that mixed variety cockerel or pullet to a pure White you will get something White. But, will have to fight the skin color being possibly Blue from what I have been told.
Now as I clearly state I am NOT an EXPERT. I do the hunt and peck method since I know many of my purebred lines do have hidden recessive Silver traits, or I would never have gotten a BUSTOFF who is loaded with Silver.
