Has anybody crossed Buff and White Orps. i did and got three roos. what do the hens look like. i'll have to get pics of the roo i kept.

My chicks hatched March 3 and 4th from 'ruth' eggs. 2 blue, 1 black, 1 splash. Fingers crossed for at least 2 girls.

I believe White is recessive. So you may not get anything White with the first generation. BUT, if taking the offspring back to each other you will potentially get what is called Buff Sports. They seem to have a tinge of Buff in with a mostly White looking feather.

Thanks. The roo I hatched was yellow with grey tail feathering. Some feahers did have a hint white barrig as well.

The whites were probably carrying the barring gene. The grey in the tail is to be expected because the melaniser didnt block it all the way.

yea, its partially barred columbian, probably only has one barred gene. He looks really cool, kinda like the freedom rangers

His mother was a buff orp and dad was a white orp. I got them from Mcmurray Hatchery.
