I saw these big chunkey lemons on eBay but the auction has ended...they are from Vermont. i almost bid but reined myself in..i have to make dicisions on what i would like to concentrate on. and i think ive made up my mind..ive been at australorps for 25 years or better, good ones are too hard to find. wont work to try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear (hatchery to show bird cross as it doesnt work well if at all.) so im might be giving that up and working on the others..i will try to keep a few aussies just because they are the best winter layer we have ever owned.
might be just the way they are standing , thought their tails were a little high, maybe they were herded into the corner for the pic..
but i do like these..

thanks vicki..that was a visual i understand LOL.. i liked the big roundness of them but something didnt quite feel right..i have a lot brewing right now and didnt wnt to get another one going too...the downhill horse or on the forhand sort of..Aveca,
Look where you would put a girth on these girls though. Then look at the shoulder angle. Their legs are not in the middle. Short upper arms. Not comfy to sit on, and not balanced for longevity.Yup, I'm horse people too. BHSI England, MANY orange crops ago.Had to hang up my tack due to some clumsy steeplechase horses and 3-day. The back went. Still coach a bit.
Vickie
lord bill, you never know what people might be up to..im sure lots of unscrupled people out and about on auctions..dave found a matching site above...sure looks like the same chickens..vickis right thou..they are on the forhand a bit..at a glance they looked like the classic big ol orp..
i had the odd thought, im going to get those just to see if that hatchs out.they didnt want an arm and a leg for them..but i dont want to jepordise what i have going on already..look at daves post above and say look familiar? those are in UK.hmmmmm
the
auction was listed in vermont USA
its
sad that people do stuff like that..sad but no suprise, i occasionally see some bycers over there selling the surplus, good salt of the earth people..one bad apple makes the whole barrel seem bad
