Thanks for all the nice compliments!
These carry two copies of the mottling gene, so ALL of their offspring (when bred together) will be mottled as well.
It's nice.....not only to finally have a full flock of mottleds, but also to see progress in type after hatching hundreds and selecting only a precious few!

When you say mottled, does that mean something similar to the Millies? The tip of the feather is white? It's hard for me to see the mottling in the photos and I want to make sure I understand.

Yes, they are mottled with white as in Jeremy's picture above of the black mottled. That's why I added the one (blurry) picture of the back of the head. The mottling showed up easier on the shorter feathers. Lavender is already so light, that the mottling is not as apparent as it is on black or dark colors....and photos make it especially hard to see. I guess maybe I need to catch one and photograph with the wing pulled out away from the body.
Even so, I'm favoring them over my regular lavs due to the white legs and white around the eyes.

I'm in Michigan and I know I might just be insane, but I'm actually considering setting some eggs in the next few days to a week.

I have some eggs that I can set myself, but my cabinet incubator holds several hundred. I'd like to get more Orpington eggs if I'm going to start it back up. Does anyone have SOP Buff Orpington hatching eggs for sale? PM me if you do. Thanks!!!
