Don.... I tried to find me some of them things..... I just couldn't find any for sale here in NH... I resorted to buying two of those really big green suet feeders from Walmarts... I do believe they will do the trick just fine. ")

His type isn't all that good, he has the wrong color eyes and legs. Eyes should be black or dark dark brown and legs should be black with white pads.Mr Jim, those eggs came from Uof A I can tell! Congrats. Most of mine were infertile. I MIGHT get four Favs. Chickens are just not good models for photography without a quick shutter.

See on his comb how in the middle there are two sprigs together and then there is a horn to the side on the back you can see in the first shot as more of a shadow. The black in the middle is dirt.

Clearly there was something on the lens. Apologies. I don't know if i got enough natural poses here but I was trying. None of these express how wide he is looking down on him. He just wouldn't let me get that picture. He is tightly feathered with a green sheen. No purple that I've noticed. He is only about five months with his sickles just coming in. Can you see the 'whitish' feather in the tail too? Its down in there and short. I don't know if that is a juvenile feather or what.
To clarify, I do see a distinct difference between EU Orps and USA. IMO the English ones that are winning look like balls of feather with heads and feet glued on. I would hate to pluck all that fluff. Where's their neck??
thats softie jr..he survived a weasle attack..it tore out a pile of tail feathers and some wing feathers, but they are growing back nicley..we havnt seen or heard a weasle in quite a while now..thank god..those weasles did a lot of damage in one night..they know that they cannot get in now so must have moved on..i talked to my neighbor at the bottom of driveway, the weasles killed her whole flock..horrible little things..in the photo of him walking away, you can see right side where the feathers are coming back in..if these birds hear any animal that makes a squeeking noise, they go absolutly crazy..this one broke a toenail off during the night i figure trying to get away from it..Who's rthe pretty boy?
Aveca... we are talking about using little wire coated cages inside of the hatch tray to keep the hatching chicks separated for identification purposes.
OK Thanks..Now I understand..I think I saw rockinpaints use a system like that..they were all seperated into cubicals legbars from whites, ect...
