Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Beings we are talking colors.... What do you call a snow white orp with blue legs derived from a bbs line.. a very poor splash?? or the beginnings of a white line??
That is how I made my white orp bantams. I had a white splash male and I got some half white rock and half wyn females and crossed them. I kept 4 females with white legs and got a white orp male from Warren and started. I kept females every year and bred them back to there sire. Did that 4 years and got a new white guy. Blue leg color is hard to breed out of the females. I would always get a blue legged white pullet ever year.

IF she has good type you may have a breeder to take a White Orp too. Gayle OR Krys maybe able to tell you how long it will take to get a reliable White legged White Orp line. OR Don?

After my first cross and I started to breed the females to a pure white male I never got a blue legged male. I was told, if you use a white legged male you won't get any blue. That ain't true. Year after year they got less and less. After several years of breeding them I might get 1 out of 25 pullets. Wish isn't bad. I told people that got the whites that they might get a blue legged pullet up front. You need to be careful when selling birds that might breed true. I have never lied about my birds and have never had a problem.

Vivi and I will most likely start a breeding program using these 2 white splashes. Hoping to add fresh genes to the pool but rest assure... anyone that purchases birds from that program will be well informed as to what we have done. Honesty is the best policy :)
