Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

This has been a good week for Bella!, I have started getting her eggs again and she is really fitting in now that her mother has gone broody again. I think her mothers presence made her really cocky towards other hens.

And here is Bella's mother, she is sitting on 7 eggs, 1 or 2 of which are her own and 2 are Bella's :):

Bella is growing up !

I had my first ever incubator hatch.

I set 42 eggs, pulled 19 and put 23 in lock down. Out of the 23 in lock down I had 21 to hatch: 14 EE, 2 OE and 6 LF BBS Orps. This is my first time so I think I have 3 black and 3 blue. I will try again later for more Orps because even though I checked fertility before I started saving eggs they were the majority of the ones that didn't develop.

I will try to get better pics of these and the buffs.

Here is the only pic of the buffs (already time for a bigger brooder)
Very cute babies! So much fun

Great pictures. I love my broody Buffs and they make the best moms.

I would like to introduce my Jubilee Orpingtons: Lancaster, Seymour, Eleanor, and Isabella.
Their parents were acquired from Green Fire Farm, by their breeder, Carolyn Towon (Chicken Tows). Lancaster& Seymour are 5 1/2, and 6 mos. old; Isabella & Eleanor are 4 1/2, and 5 mos. old. I am filled with joy to have them in my life.
I see my birds as: flowers on two legs.

Lovely kids Lual. They will continue to color up as they get older too. Love the nice combs on the boys, and the nice green sheen. The English type is certainly there too. You will enjoy these!

There is a big difference between taking Cuckoo to whites to clean them up and taking a cuckoo to Buff Columbians and expecting to get a white, and by cuckoo I mean a clear pure silver cuckoo. Your cuckoo looks like it has some type of pattern underneath the barring.

Well Jon, I was never "expecting" to get a White. Marvin said it is "possible" to get a Silver. Call it what you like. But this Silver is from the only Blue legged pullet I have hatched from this season. And that is the Buff Columbian.

Another look Marvin said is possible.

ALL from the same two parents
