Don, yer funny. Aveca, he had walked himself up that tree limb and was at least 4 feet in the air when he found himself at the end. It gave me a chance to take a few shots while he contemplated the fall/jump.

Snow, ice and freezing weather has gone for now. Back to the wet and mud.
I still have all but one of my Buff cockerels I hatched out. Still am amazed how much some of them have distinct UK features in my Orp lines. And not just in my Buff lines.
This is brother to Yosemite. Another son of Harold. I have him on the back burner and most likely will not use him. One of my APA lines has to have some tail work done. MAYBE taken to some of my better stiffer feathered hens with the nice tails could be who I take him too in the future IF something would ever happen to my best 2 Black boys.

I wished I had my pole barn heated up warmer. Looks like I will loose some points. Which is only bad IF I want to show these 2 Buff boys. My better Buff cockerel are inside the basement outta the cold. Still being very careful before they head out.
I have set up a deal with my fav lady who set me up with some of my Buff Sports. She is down to just the daddy of the Sports. He is a fantastic Buff cock who won Grand Champ in the Junior Class at our Indiana State Fair Poultry Show 2 years in row. For you folks who do not know. Indiana State Fair Poultry Show is one of the biggest State Fair shows in the country. To go back to back in the junior class is like winning the Super Bowl twice in a row. Now Joyce has 2 more Buff Sports. She thought she got rid of the hen responsible for these Buff Sports. But apparently that hen has a sis who made 2 more. I am to get those 2 to take to my Whites. You can see what my Shafer cock made with one of her Sports. Joyce will get 2 of my Buff cockerels to use for the breeding season. After breeding is over I will get back my boys. I will rotate about every other month a different pair of boys for Joyce to use. 2 of my Akers Buff cockerels have huge heads. Joyce will get to use them as well.
Good things happen to good people.
Can you see any UK in this Buff? Not the best angle but should give you an idea.

One of his brothers.

Here's my girl...I need to get some newer pics as she actually has a little red comb, and has started to lay me some eggs. Big round brown eggs. But she isn't a nice hen at all..the only time I can get near her is when they are roosting, and she pecks me...
