Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Glad I'm not the only one who cuts out roofs to fit trees ! This is a really well thought out coop. I like the plywood dividers too. It sure does keep the boys in better condition if they can't see each other.

Yeah Vickie.....I learned the hard way about the plywood dividers....roosters do spar if they can see each other! Most of the things that I do now with the birds.....I learned the hard way....LOL! But, I'm getting there....sorta like the saying..... "Don't give up on me.....GOD's not finished with me yet!" I wasn't about to give up on my shade tree. My husband wanted to cut it down......I said NO! Just cut around it! So....he did.....LOL!

I was thinking about an open coop type deal. Where are your nests?

Open coop here in Texas is the way to go! I've had the closed coops and I always had problems with heat and also the strong odors...not to mention rats and mice. Plus in this muggy heat of ours.....bacteria just loves to grow in closed in areas. This type of coop....you don't have to worry with all of that. Fresh air....no smells and nowhere for little mice to hide....LOL Here's some pics that I went and took today that might help.

I know it is a lot of pics....but they speak louder than words. Hope it helps! :D

Here is a shot I took on Friday. This is one of my 5 BOs.

Camilla just decided to grow up last week and her waddles and comb really filled out and redden up, she also got a little more "hippie" so I'm hoping that means some eggs soon.
