Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

God is at work Johnn. I'll bet that's a pullet. Now, to get a nice Buff Orp cockerel.............
I'm not sure if I want a Buff Orp cockerel anymore. I keep having a fear of getting a aggressive one again and it will be bigger than Asparagus and if it gets me in the face like Asparagus nearly did then it will hurt more!

Love everyone s pics!!! ♡

Think about it Johnn. If you are more than 4 feet tall an Orp cock bird really can't get your face. They simply get too heavy. Never had one even try, but I'm 5'9". All my buff boys are pussycats.
I agree...I have never had any cock (Incl.leghorn, australorp, RIR) ever truly challenge me...I am 5'7...they have been 'chesty' around me and acted like they were thinking about it...of course I have handled many a stallion throughout my years with horses too. I think that you really have to have a 'presence' around males from the beginning. I am sure there are the outlier 'crazy' ones but rare IMHO.

I love this little chick more than I have loved any other chicks. It just sits on my hand! Daisy's other egg still hasn't shown any sign of hatching, so tomorrow I will move daisy to the floor so her and the chick can eat and drink and I will put the eggs down too and let her decide what happens. I will only leave her in the nest if the chick starts hatching.
Precious wee one

I just snapped a few quick pics today...This Orp chick just turned 6 weeks and the gender is still not hugely evident to me.

For comparison (not a great profile pic and I know apples and oranges...but) here is an almost 5 week old Buff Rock that screams COCKEREL

Thoughts????
