That will fix that comb ?Give the K a little time, Road Runner blood takes longer to thicken up.

5 points i beleive..choose the birds with combs that have nice even spacing and wide serations..look the males over carefully for type, color, size lots of little things..I have said it before but I will say it again: I am very new to this so I have a long way to go. Just curious but how much does a comb count in the points when showing?
I have 3 other cockerels in the buffs to pick from so I am not going to sweat a bad comb. If he gets everything but the comb going for him as he matures out I will just get selective in the pullets I cross him with and try to breed for a more acceptable comb.
I think it's 1 - 2 points. I'll look it up in the standard.

the crossing to females with nice combs will start to give a % of birds with good combs..then keep breeding for those strong traits.along with nice width throu ect..
just go to the shows and have a great time..you will meet a lot of nice helpful people there..its a lot of fun...
your probably right..i loaned mine out this summer..cant remember..if you find out , let me know..i will be getting a new standard sometime this year..Do you have a new standard? Mine is a 2001 and the most you could lose is 2 points. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Walt might helps us out on the points.
go and have a great time..after the judging is over the judges are usually very helpful and glad to share their knowlege...you will be so glad that you went..Thanks. I plan on getting my feet wet in the shows come Fall. I am sure I will learn a lot and maybe if I am fortunate I will be able to talk to one of the judges after the show to get some pointers on my birds.
