Hi! I'm new to chickens and I believe our black Orpington may need a name change. She's currently Mary but I think she may be Marty. I would love some input! She (he?) is currently 5 months old. None of our flock have started laying yet but he/she has started growing those pointy yellowish saddle (I think) feathers and has started crowing. It's not just a little noise, it's legitimate crowing. I've read that sometimes a hen may do the dominant thing and act like a rooster but I think we may actually have a rooster on our hands. If anyone has some insight, I'd appreciate it!
