Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I agree on both points. Your older boy has the English body type & a nice comb. Of course, I'm not showing or a breeder. Ours are hobby birds & family pets.

Here's our daughter with our fav roo. (Poor guy was named "Mr. Dummy-Pants" by her, but he still loves her.) He never went through that adolescent testing phase & is fine with all people. He follows us around for treats, but whenever he gets one, he puts it down as an offering for his hens. Such a great boy.

Here are baby pics of Brick & Godiva. (Maybe 3-4 wks old)

I love my orps :)

Hello all,
Could someone please help me?
Is this a Buff Orpington (like I was told?) or something else?
She or he has yellow legs.
Also, is it a male or female?

Thanks everyone :)

I don't have a buff orp, but it looks like one to me. Might be hatchery quality. Do you know the age? That will help determine gender. Also a close up of the head to see the size & color of the comb/wattles.

We just had some chicks hatch this week.

These 2 below are 1/2 orp x 1/2 Spitzhauben. (I couldn't resist slipping them under the broody.) I hope they get their biological mother's crest!

Here's our 3 yr old Black Orp. DD made her a pretty necklace -which was eaten a few minutes after this pic was taken.

Here's our Choc Cuckoo Orp male. Very pretty but not blessed with much intelligence. His name is :"Brick," short for "dumb as a brick."

Godiva & Brick

Godiva bawking at me b/c I didn't bring treats.

My Leggy lav (Moose) showing off his growing wattles.
Will he ever fill out????

Orpingtons should never have yellow legs. This bird more resembles a crossbreed or buff rock even if it is purebred. Judging by the image, it looks like you have a rooster

... his comb is pretty large and red for a bird of his age (about 5 months?). Also his saddle feathers are pointy unlike a hens saddle. Where did you get him from? Even hatchery orps don't usually have yellow legs, from my experience.

Cute babies! We hatched chicks this week too. Well, we hatched 4 and then we ordered 9 more, haha! We have 4 Orpington crosses, 3 Orpingtons and 6 EEs.
