Yes I did get two beautiful Blues from Bamma at the Ohio Show last fall. I have the boy in with 3 nice girls. And plan on moving him on ALL my Black and Blue girls. I also got two separate sets of eggs I hatched out from her as well. I just hatched out 6 from her Tubby and 2 from her Charlie. Their very healthy little fellas. I just put in the Bator 2 dozen eggs from the Blue cockerel and the girls. About 2 weeks away there.
Your right the rat pack as I like to call mine seemingly ALL look very cullable till they hit near 7 or 8 months old. A friend of mine told me, KORgo looked liked he had a vitamin deficiency. I am hard on the younger chicks. I put him outside and I think he looks good for a late August hatch.
The Hink's Blacks look alot like the ones I am raising from the eggs I got from Bamma last fall. 2 Gorgeous Black boys and a Blue & one little Black girl. Their from a different male she said. GREAT fluff, nice broad bodies. Can't see anything I would change. Keep a good thing going.

Rat pack LOL too cute....I want to thank you guys for setting me straight on the traits of this breed. I had no idea this was just a normal thing . I was absolutly terrified that I had done something wrong . Thought I spent money bought what I thought was the best feed on the market made especially for starting chicks by calf manna... Boy I thought I just did something wrong. .I was afraid to tell anybody for a while for fear someone would yell at me and say LYNNE what did you do to those chickens feathers. They are actually starting to look pretty good now compared to a few weeks ago. I love to show , and this is a new breed for me. they are ugly ducklings that grow into beautiful swans. this is a breed that I have always wanted

Here they are new out of the egg in the bator. I told this story in another post but night befor they were due to hatch we were due a huge snowstorm, figured no problem woodstove is on so if power goes out have al solar things charged and ready to turn on light if need be so we are all set.

Well then I got the phone call ... my husband had fallen 20 ft off a ladder and was in trauma unit at the hospital , when those things happen you drop everything and run.. he was rushed into surgery and I called the neighbor to come plow the drive for me to get home in the middle of the night he had a hard time getting through the drifts but managed to make me a goat path just big enough for the Xtera to climb the 1/3 mile hill that is our drive, power was out , wind howling, fire had gone out , it was stone cold in the house. had to climb through snow drifts to get to the wood pile and get it started, so long story short I didnt have much hope for the babies in the bator, turned the solar battery banks on to get some light started the fire lifted the lid on the bator and figured it was pretty much over at this point.. went ahead and turned it back on , dont really know what made me do that cause they were so cold left it on for 2 more days and thought well its over might as well throw them out.. that night I went back into that room just for a good cry like a pressure release and thought I heard a peep...then another. stood over the bator thought Im just over tired and hearing things then I saw a big chip out of one of the eggs the three closest to the middle of the bator all hatched. 2 blk orps and 1 australorps. I was absolutly thrilled. seriously expected not one of them would hatch after the big over night chill.

They are a little excited in these pics because I had just moved them out into the big hen house in a cage they had vaccines weeks prior but you can see those feathers which by this time look pretty good. very excited about this breed and need advise time to time. some nice breeder told me the other day, wash them a week befor the show especialy if its humid, takes them long time to dry out, not like my sebrights dry in a flash.

Bill, Korgo is a handsome fella. I have some young black cockerels that i can't wait to see how they look in two more months. They are 9 weeks old now and very wide and cobby. I want some lift in the tail and a nice U . I have four blues that age and 3 are pullets. Seems I am getting more pullets this year, PTL. Of course I am looking for some really good boys too. I need to get some new pics cause one of those pullets has some awesome lacing.

Were motoring along here. I was told by our friend he resembles "The Duke". A late bloomer who's bloomin infront of our very eyes. I tell ya, it seems like he grew just yesterday after his bath.
Doc is officially in the number Black pen. Feran got bumped from the Gateway Show this weekend due to fence fightin, he got a small cut on one of his wattles. So, sink or swim for KORgo at the show. I bathed our Buff Cochins. Check em out.

We will see. Coming off this winter, none of my birds are at their best. They look good and fluffy. Could have a bit more meat on them. Give them the summer.
