Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Here are some new pictures of my "Bama" blacks, they are just a beautiful crew and they are just five months old. I can't wait to see what they look like in a couple of more months. It will be exciting to start hatching out some of their offspring.

Hen T your blacks are looking really good. Love the boys. Both look to have nice combs and wide chest and nice tails. Happy for you.

Like the color on the last buff cockerel shown.

Hey everyone!

I have four almost 3 week old Buff Orpingtons and I was just wondering if it's possible to sex them yet? I have one that is much larger then the rest and has way more feathers, it also is the bravest and always tries to "protect" the other 3 chicks whenever there is a loud noise or anything. Is this one possibly a roo and thats why it acts so different and is so much bigger then the rest?

I don't currently have anyway to load pictures onto the site because I have to use a public internet connection and its really slow and choppy so it takes for ever to load them and usually cuts out before they are done. I will see if I can find a way to get some on. Otherwise how and when do you sex BOs? Is there something I should look for?

Great pics everyone! Buff is by far my favorite in this breed, but I'm gradually growing very fond of the other colors varieties.

GothChick - usually by about 6 weeks you can see the boys comb starting to get much bigger than the girls. It also gets red much faster than the girls. By about 14 weeks, the boys start to show their shiney hackle and saddle feathers too. The girls feathers tend to stay more rounded and dull compared to the boys.

Some friends of mine adopted two of my BBS bantam cockerels, and it was love at first sight. The pictures were so adorable that i had to share
