Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I have been in the orpingtons for about 3 years now and will admit I have limited knowledge of the breed but I have read that cochin was introduced in the breed after the original breed was formed. I cannot prove it but my guess is based on circumstancial evidence being that as popular as cochins were/are in England that cochin stock was used more so than in american stock and that would lead to a more cochin body type in English birds than American. The birds I have personally seen AND from pictures bears this out. Of course cochins here resemble brahmas in some circles.

So what's your point?

You and I have already spoken privately about this and you have chosen to call me names and berate me personally. Now if you want to have a conversation and are genuinely interested in my opinions on this then that is fine and I am willing to do so but if you are wanting to start where we left off I'm sorry but I am not interested in that.

No, I'm honestly wondering what your point is in any of your posts? You're doing nothing but alluding to the fact that the Imported birds may have Cochin blood in them. Okay. So what? What is your point? I'm just not understanding your logic and where you're trying to go with this train of thought... it seems completely irrelevant, IMO.

It seems to me all you're trying to do is stir the pot and start a argument. Again, IMO. If that was you're intention then you at least got what you were looking for from me, in a manner of speaking. But I question still what the point of it all is? Why do I care that you're so bent on getting people to believe that the Imported English Orpingtons may have Cochin blood bred into them?

I dunno. I've decided to not care though.

Everyone has a right to an opinion, Jeremy. Let it go........

You're right, Kathy.

I've been waiting to use this smiley for awhile...

Jeremy - LOL like the emoticon!

We understand that some people think some types of Orps look like cochins. And yes, some colors were created using cochins as one of at least three breeds used. As for what might have been introduced into some lines in the last 100 years, I'm sure there could be more cochin blood. Or anything else, who knows. And who cares?
