These are German Orps? They look as good as many of the SOP version we have in the shows here. Makes one one wonder why the Germans and the UK are so much different in appearances.

You might be right that could be a columbian Orp hen next to the black Orp hen but you know them Germans they have so many different breeds who knows.

Lady Ressler, I'm glad you joined us here on BYC. Welcome!!! Maybe I can help a little. At about 2 months, they should be getting past the "ugly stage". They'll be feathered, but still have a long way to go. Below are some examples of some Buffs that I previously had.

Here's what they looked like at 4 1/2 months. A couple of the pullets were about 2 weeks younger. But, you get the idea.


Here they are at about 8 months.

What is a buff Birchen? I thought they only came in Silver Birchen & Blue Birchen?

I am mostly hatching out the standard varieties this season. However, I am moving ahead with a few of the projects I have available to create.
This is the son of my Blue Cuckoo

Ofcourse I have at least a dozen or more of my Cuckoos


Another Standard breed I am starting to gain interest in is Australorps
This girl is from my famed "Layers Special" Australorp girls


And without sayin my Dun Birchens are going ahead in full force. One of several Dun Birchen pullets to go along with my Dun Birchen cockerel

It has White legs. And looks alot like the one I have runnin around
