I'm not sure if these were chicks that originally came from Doug Akers or chicks hatched from birds bought from Doug Akers but they are his line. All three of the hens are 13 months old right now.
When I went to pick them up, my friend had 7 hens in a pen together all the same age. He asked me what ones did I want? I had to laugh when I told him….whatever one you don’t, heck they all look great to me. His Roosters are something else as well and I can’t wait to see how my 2 cockerels turn out.

I'm looking to get a new Orpington roo for my free range flock and was wondering which color I should? Anybody have pics of some ones that are generally easier to find. I've had them before but sold them and kept a cochin. I've got a buff and white Orp hen left. Any suggestions on a color?
fun DeannI know this is for Orps. Do Orp X count? Here are two Whooops that turned out kinda cool. The first is crele colored Orp X and the second is Isabel (Lemon Cuckoo Orp X Lav. Orp).
I am planning to put the Crele Orp in with my Eng Black rooster. Apparently, all the male chicks will be Cuckoo and the females will be black. I will then take the Cuckoo roo and cover back onto its mom to get cukoo colored Orps. Think it will work?
