Jeremy, Thank You. We are just breeding chickens. Let's all do what we like and enjoy it. I don't tell stories about my birds, they win a little and lose alot. Anyone that has some of my birds didn't pay much either. Not trying to make a living selling chickens. Enjoying my living raising orps.

He Cecil Sold them for a Fair Price at the time; and people Bought,Showed and Won with his birds and yet what is left of them? You could raise 20 Pullets and have 15 that could compete and win in a show. They (Whites) were Very Heat Tolerant but Extremely Prone to Mareks. I feel that is why they Died out to some Extent. I don't Understand how anybody would speak negatively of Him.

Alan, you can't believe everything on this board. I came here 3 years or so to check it out. They was bad monthing Cecil Moore and was saying how he bred nothing but trash. I couldn't believe that. Cecil was a good friend and I guess this people at that time had never seen Cecil Moores white and black orps. Not only a great breeder, he would share his chicks with anyone. I have been to his house several times. He only had one breeding pen for whites and one for blacks. They came out of the pen he kept his from. I never came back to this board till about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Had a little misson.

Cecil was a fine man that produced some of the best Orps ever.

The Internet has been the best and the worse thing for our hobby. People can say anything they want here and it is true until someone responds and SOUNDLY proves them wrong. Sometimes I can't believe the stuff people believe on here..most of the time I just spit my drink all over the monitor, but in cases like this it annoys the heck out of me. They are throwing around a reputation of a person they don't even know...it's all second, third 100th hand and as you see on these threads the understanding of posts is not really great......then it is reposted as true.

One of the main reasons I come here is to give my side when someone is bashing the APA. 99% of the people that do that know nothing about the APA and can't defend their position.cuz they read it online and they have no idea what is true and what isn't.

its too bad anyone ever bad mouthed cecil moore..he was an icon..people get jelous i think and they dont admire people anymore...they dont help people anymore..its clawing your way over top of people, not focusing on what is best for the future of the breed....they try to destroy people like cecil..its a rotten world these days..and its extreamly unproductive....people say stuff online that they wouldnt ever dare say to your face cause they know they can..they might have a nice shiner if they tried that in your face...at least in ny..if you dont get these birds out and around..hold them too tight...it could spell the end .i have seen some good people get out of it, ive seen some brand new people get out of it because of the non scence..people like cecil did so much for orpingtons and orpington people..cecil never got a chance to write a book, at least not that i know of..wished he did..it would benifit the next generation that will be in here saying ....how do i get to that point jumping over landmines of slander in these website frustrated until they just give up..
sorry i had no idea anyone was mean to cecil..hes kind of a hero of mine..made me a little upset.

Unlike you; I get Very Mad When People are to Cheap to pay a Fair Price for a Chicken and they will lie to you, give every kind of sob story use kids for an excuse to get cheap birds, but will want a fortune for those very same birds when they sell them. I hold no Animosity to People who Sell Quality Birds/Livestock for Whatever Price; But have come to Despise Some Internet Chicken Jockeys Selling Junk to the Public under the Title of Project Birds.Using Pictures of Other People's Birds.

AND ANOTHER THING...IN ALL MY YEARS OF RAISING AND SHOWING HORSES, DOGS, DAIRY GOATS, SHEEP, CATTLE, AND POULTRY, I THINK I MUST BE SOMEWHERE NEAR $25,000 IN THE HOLE. HOWEVER, I'VE NEVER HAD TO JOIN A HEALTH CLUB, OR "WORK OUT" TO KEEP MY FIGURE. THE FRIENDS I HAVE MADE ARE PRICELESS!

Alan, there is alot of great chicken folks around. It's that few that puts the bad taste in your month. Tell them old storys and get to telling then for so long, hell they beleive they are true. They got this chicken from so and so and they got at a flea market. Just to sell birds, chicks or eggs. We will live on and I will enjoy breeding chickens. I think I'm a breeder. Maybe not the best, maybe above average.There's alot of people that claim to be breeders that are only sellers. I want to try and help someone if they want to breed orps.
