Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Nice shots! Love the one with them running toward the camera!

It took some preparation to get that shot! I had to lay on my belly in the grass [praying there wasn't any fresh chicken poop under me], balance the camera, and shake the meal worm tub. LMAO.

Totally worth it for the shot though. There is nothing in this world that my girls love more than meal worms :9. My husband is quite concerned that they're never going to lay an egg because I'll have made them too fat with mealworms :/

Hahaha. Tell him no, the mealworms will make them lay faster because of the extra protein. Not true probably but at least it sounds good.

It does sound good!

I'll tell you, I have really enjoyed raising these girls from 3 day old chicks! It's been a ton of work [I probably could have just gone and bought pullets] but it's also been rewarding. They are so friendly and fluffy, and almost like the children we don't have! But, I feel like I've been waiting for a lifetime to get some eggs from them!

They are 17 weeks old today! I'm sure I'll get some eggs in the next month or two! I've got everything crossed, at least when they start laying I won't have to listen to my husband threaten to turn them into chicken noodle soup if they don't produce. LMAO. Silly husband is always hungry.

It's a long wait when you raise them from chicks but I'd rather do that than get grown birds. I will get grown ones if I can get something really nice, but other than that, it's hatching eggs or chicks for me. They are "your" birds when you do that and know "your" ways, etc. Hard to describe. But very rewarding. Welcome to the world of Orpingtons!

A couple of breeder quality males.
most all these birds are March hatches

This boy has alot of what I like except his wing feather on one side. Still could be a decent breeder. I have 2 Black cocks that I used this year. So, I need to be looking for one or two more to carry the torch.

A Blue who is also needing some work to be show worthy. Has a couple of red feathers that I am not too worried about.

Harry Cuckoo line has made a few huge boys. This fella will get a crack at some Whites next year. Love his head and he is already as big as the 12 lbs Terry Britt Buff cock in the pen with him.

This boy has more fluff that everyone is liking. I'd like to see how he finishes up.

I like his width on his rear, and when I take him to a stiffer feathered bird the offspring will be just what I am looking for.

A few of the older Buffs and Whites. Will be showing a few of these.
Prolly not this White boy yet. He is at that age where he looks gangly and awkward. Doug once told me his best Orps take up to a year and a half to mature. This fella is on that pace.

This Buff boy most likely will not make the cut. I have 2 Exhibition quality Buff cocks to use. Just only used one this season to make these Buffs.

Some of the girls.
