Here are some of my juveniles from Ideal.
I think they are gorgeous, but what do I know?
Smokey, a Blue Cochin bantam cockerel, 7 weeks old (Rummy's fav). He is laid back, mellow, friendly, cuddly, and he goes and breaks up fights btw the others. I have a feeling he's going to be an outstanding roo. But we'll see.
Silver Laced Polish, 5 weeks old
Black Cochin bantam cockerel, 7 weeks old, he is easily one of the most dominant ones, and very sure of himself. You can tell from the pic.
Ivory, my snow white Cochin bantam pullet. 7 weeks old. She is feisty, cuddly, active and very self assured. I wish she would stay clean but she loves dust baths.
Black cochin bantam pullet. 7 weeks old. In the sunlight, her black feathers gleam with a sheen of green, like a pearl, she is beautiful in the light.
Black Frizzle cochin bantam cockerel. 7 weeks old. He is the most feisty of the lot, also the most dominant of them all. He might be top roo when he grows up.
Smokey, on the tire, waiting for his turn in the dust bath.
Another beautiful shot of Smokey.
A Buff laced Polish. 5 weeks old. I find it harder to sex the polish, simply because they do not have combs yet, and they are still too young, and haven't started crowing or laying. Their crests are still developing so we're not able to use those to sex them either.
Black crested "White" polish, but more like a splash polish to me. 5 weeks old. He/She is one of the loudest and whiniest of the bunch. But also the most explorative and daring. He/she goes wandering off into a bush alone, suddenly realizes, "wait, I'm all alone, where is everybody?" and starts whining and chirping so loud to call the rest. But the rest are off on their own adventures, so this one has to come back to the rest. My little whiney. Right now, his/her name is BiSing (pronounced bee sing - Malay word for noisy).
Silver laced polish, 5 weeks old. One of my favorites because the coloring is so striking, and the crests is growing so full, symmetrical and round. His/her temperament is also wonderful, adventurous, quiet, friendly, and cuddly.
My beauties on a perch.
