Boy it is hard to pick...However, i think I have decided what new birds I want. I have a few EE's now. I really want to get some that are good winter layers and lay white or brown eggs. I am thinking about getting Bo, RIR, BSL, CA Whites and Silkies.
i only buy from ideal when they have specials on bantys for $.99 which lost toes for no reason (trust me not frostbite) but glad i didnt pay full price
Bantam red frizzle cochins from Ideal. The hen never made it to see 2 years old and I sold the roo.
Bantam "ameraucanas" from Ideal. Clearly ee's but cute none the less.
In that batch I ordered I also got a silver laced cochin that had pretty bad lacing (ordered 2 but one died in transit), 2 Porcelin D'uccles (both turned out to be roos) and a few others that died in transit partly because they were shipped with 14 free packing peanuts (barred rocks) whom trampled the banties.
Wow, Lots of short lived birds from Ideal. The EE are very cute, look allot like my girls. The frizzles, not so nice, sorry... I am leaning toward McMurray I guess as my experience with previous hens from there and other BYC seem to be far better than the Ideal statistics. I guess you get what you pay for.
I think the fact that McMurray has all breeds available for ordering now(instead of "Notify me" when available) is helpful also. Just a bit dissapointed that the Langshans are SR. No Langshans for me I guess.
