Well I'm in the uk and was given them for free! Didn't know what they were till I got them home and googled them!

Wow, nice. They sell for quite a bit in the US and probably in the UK. They are rare as well!

My batch of chickies from Meyer Hatchery came last night to the post office at midnight. I zoomed over there to get them and was kind of hesitant to open the lid. What would I find? Two dead. Sigh. Not sure which ones they were as I have several that they may be. Hopefully not my expensive Black Copper Marans or the other expensive/specialty chickies. This is the first time I've had dead chickies and the first time I've used Meyer Hatchery in Polk Ohio. I knew I would be risking the chickies' health as the distance from Meyer to me is 2 1/2 times farther than my usual hatchery, Cackle, in Missouri. I may lose another one too. I think one of the other chickies pecked her left eye out and she is weak and starting to show signs of splayed leg. I've had one chick in the past have that and I was able to get her to good health (brought her in the house and did "squats" with her every 15 minutes!) but this one already looks weak with that eye being out. Another sigh. Haven't been able to get a good picture of any of them; trying to leave them alone to adjust for a while. They began drinking and eating right away. Amazing how some are such bullies already! Precious but heart-breaking at the same time with the losses and this third one having issues. Probably won't buy from Meyer again due to the distance factor. Their customer service has been wonderful tho offering to re-ship, credit or reimburse. I'll try to get a few good pictures of them soon but don't want to traumatize them anymore for now.
