Post pics of your chicks thread!!!

I started with chickens last year - I started with 4 Silkie Chicks, one for each of us in the family. Turned out when they grew up I had 3 Roosters and only 1 Hen. My Hen passed away due to a sickness and I just recently had to rehome one Roo due to fighting. My other 2 Roosters seem to get along for now. So this year I had to get some Hens for the boys and originally ordered 6 from someone local ordering in the breeds I wanted. Of course when I went to pick them up I added to that and came home with 8.

It is true what they say - Chicken are addicting. My chicks are AWESOME and my daughter and I did a photo shoot of each of them. I cannot wait to watch my girls grow and change as they get bigger and I cannot wait to finally get some eggs out of all my hard work.

Here are my girls:

So far my favorite of the bunch is Buttercup the Buff Orpington - she is the sweetest little thing and loves to be held and carried around the house. She loves to be pet and will fall asleep in my hands when I rub the side of her face. I am know part of the Crazy Chicken Lady Club for sure!!!

Ooh! Nice breeds! Very cute! I see you've already experienced chicken math! Welcome to the Crazy Chicken Lady Club!!! :)

Oh crap, redneck! Maybe it will warm up later? Your dad good at caring for li'l poultry? I know how you feel. I hate leaving for annual road trip & leaving chickies behind for the chicken sitter. It does get easier every year though. She was new to chickens & now she has experience, so I worry just a little less. :)
