I didn't, my interior decorator did! Now I wish I had asked her! I think it may have been a HomeSense store. She knew I was into chickens, so she brought in a wee bunch of chicken decor. My renovated house is decorated in 'country chic' now. Loving it!

My little Light Sussex at about 4 days old

Silkie went broody 23 days ago today. Chirps and pips started yesterday. Ran out first thing this morning to take pictures. This being our first time and not even sure if it was going to work, we just gave her 5 random eggs to sit on. Here is the first peek at our mutt chickens. They are either going to be a Barred Rock/Wyandott cross or a New Hampshire-Red/Wyandott cross.










At the time of this post, 2 eggs are fully hatched and a third has a good hole going. The last 2 aren't making any noise...so I'm not sure. But I'll leave em for a bit longer, and see what happens. Theres at least 3. So I'm not complaining.
