I got my 3 CL delivered this morning. Too excited about them. We keep talking with them, going lil peep peep peep. I was hoping for at least a week old(cause I'm really impatient and want eggs now) but they turned up being 2 days old! Itty bitty chicks. The chihuahua wants nothing to do with them, safe to say he's a little bit afraid.

We've named them Enid the blonde one, Bertha the biggest browner one, and Beatrix the more ginger one.

i had another hatch out this morning, with a little blood in the shell....
doesn't look like a lot, but i am nervous about this baby being ok.






This one is a Silkie x Sultan/polish mutt.
In the coop there are 2 sultan/polish mutts, and 2 silkies, a roo and a hen of each.
Both babies came from the sultan mutt hen. One (the newest) has dark skin.
Any ideas on the blood in the shell? Is that normal?
