My ducks have 3 kiddie pools, but they are afraid to go into one unless there is some sort of enclosure as they are afraid of the hawks. But the also have a concrete horse waterer that they swim in when the geese allow them to. I had to put fencing around it because it is quite a drop from the edge to the ground and I didn't want them jumping out and breaking a leg. I had to build a ramp for them to walk up to get into it and then train them to use the ramp. I'll try to get pictures. It's not pretty, but it works well and I love watching the ducks and geese dive and swim underwater.

Here's mine, you can see the drain pipe that we ran into the woods in the back. When it gets down to about a gallon of water I just pick it up and dump the remaining muck out. We unplug the drain every evening when we lock up the ducks so when I get up in the morning all I have to do is rinse and refill it. The ramp that we put in there wasn't working so we broke up a cinderblock into a few pieces and made steps out of it.
