This is my new guy, Dancer. He is quite the alpha rooster! I think he is a Mottled Bantam Cochin, is that correct BYCers? He replaces Dandy (RIP) in my flock, but not in my heart! He starts crowing between 4 or 4:30 every morning and "shares is affections" with all my standards. My other bantams are not of age yet.
Here is a pic of Rocky Jr, son of Rocky Senior- my avatar and a sweet silkie hen. He got in a terrible argument with a young over studly frizzle roo and is spending the evening with us in my living room, watching television and snoozing. He is a real sweety, he fell asleep on my chest earlier and was OUT! he is a real cool color- don't know what you would call it.
First off our Vida Blue, we just rehomed him..he was a stunner though and deserves a spot on here. Giant Blue Cochin.
Vida fathered two homegrown chicks..they ended up both being roo's, first one is Guld, his mama is a Buff Orpington. He is 20 wks.
The second homegrown one is Springsteen, his mama is a Barred Rock, but she lays green eggs, so I guess she is an Easter Egger..
Then we also have Elmer..he was one of the peanut stuffers in our order from Ideal. He had pasty butt so bad that we kept him, thinking he wouldn't survive with anybody else..hence the name Elmer (glue).
The only good pic I have of him is when he was a about 8-10 wks..but he is a cutie and so is his post..my 4 yr old son..
My friend Jerry gave this Phoenix to my son about 3 months ago. This Roo is about 3 years old & never spent a day in a cage or coop. He seems to like the high life(having a roof over his head) I call him Momma Hen! He's never crowed! He takes care of those bantam wyandottes like there his own. If he catches a bug he calls them over and feeds it to them. He also covers them with his wings every night. I don't think I've ever owned a better Roo. He's going threw a molt now. He will be beautiful this fall.
