We finally got our first eggs yesterday!

How many do leghorns lay a day? I have been told some breeds lay an egg in the morning and in the evening.

I have quite a few. I have one that will follow me around when I go in there area. Always talking too. She's the runt, but a very loving bird. You will love the Leghorns.

They have really calmed down a lot lately. They now come up to us when we come out. It really is pretty cool to interact with them. My neighbors probably think I've flown the coop when they hear me out there talking to them. lol.

I do it all the time. lol

From Summer to Fall and Spring to Summer, the changing of daylight hours, my hens and everybody I talk to, the hens will slow way down. Once the daylight hours begin to stabilize, the hens will start to lay like normal again. I was get 13-16 eggs a day out of 16 hens. Now I'm lucky to get 6-7.

Patience!!

This is just the second day that ours have laid eggs. I figured maybe it takes a few days to get steady production from them.
