post pics of your runs

Mine is a dog kennel. I have chicken wire around the bottom of it and chicken wire under the tarp on the top. I also added railroad ties around the outside edge to keep out digging critters.

It's hard to see the actual runs because they are behind the coops. The whole 'compound' is enclosed in a cattle panel and chicken wire pen, and the coops and dog runs are inside of that.

The very front is horse fencing, to keep the dogs out. My dog yard is all 5' horse fencing, and the chickens get about 5-10 hrs a day of free ranging. It's nice because the chickens get to eat bugs and grass, and the dogs in turn get a yard with a lot less ticks.

Upon closer inspection, these pics were taken before I put up the dog runs. No wonder you can't see them !

but there are two; a 12x18, and a 18 x 10. The larger area has hardware cloth attached to the top. I had to lace it together with zip ties, and it took FOREVER. Still gotta do it to the other side.

Of course, we do not have any grass in the run any more. We try to let them out to free range each evening for a little while, so they can run in the grass and catch bugs.

this was the 3rd coop/run and now we built another one right next to this one and the same size, we keep our hens with hatchlings there.
