I orderd a bunch of chicks from McMurray a few days ago and i would like to see what they are going to look like. Also i wanted to know if anyone got the free rare breed chick and what it was. Thanks!

I don't have pictures of any that are old.. But I do have some when they have their adult feathers. The "free" ""rare"" chick I got was a cornish rock broiler.

what kind of chicks did you order?.I got my first order from them about 5 years ago.We ordered 5 diff. breeds if I remember right and have had a couple duck orders and gosling's and forgot my roayl palm turkey's since then as well.

Indeed my exotic chicks were Easter Eggers.

Back when I ordered from hatcheries, I used to get some birds from Murray McMurray. ALL of them grew up to be horrible quality like any hatchery offers, and I'd even admit that I'd rather trade in my Wyandottes for some other breed. . . They're not even friendly to people OR themselves.

Here are my Brahmas. All of them are 5 pounds under the SOP weight, and the first is certainly not purebred, and infact a Sussex cross. . . Note the body shape and the single comb.

Here are my "Araucana/Americanas" - Which are Easter Eggers.

They're the worst about the Easter Egger lie, as they spell Ameraucana wrong AND convince people they have Araucanas of all breeds. . . So then, people disregard that Araucanas are extremely rare, have no tails, and certainly don't have beards and muffs.

Here are my Wyandottes; Skinniest, ugliest, most unfriendly of my breeds. . .

I just got my first McMurray shipment so I will have to wait a bit to post pics. I put a post under what breed or gender am I that starts out Early, Surly. I still am not quite for sure what my "free rare" chick is.

not rare..ill guarentee that.
it AMAZES ME that people order from mcmurry at all! awful birds. but that does not mean all hatcheries are that way....NOT AT ALL. I ONLY order from cackle now, there birds are great. i actually have light brahmsa from cackle, very large, pea comb, great birds, not cross bred. this horrible mcmurry quality of birds just further proves that mcmurry birds are way way way substandard, not just compared to the breed standard, but to other hatcheries. go with cackle, mcmurry is awful.

Well.. darn

aww...cheer up, you may still get a few that wont be so bad, its possible. but next time, go with cackle. or most anywhere else. sorry about busting your bubble with the free rare chick too, the ones you ordered are going to be waaayyyy rarer than your freebee.

i dont have adult pics cause when i got mine 2 years ago mcmurray was having problems with AE and i lost most of my birds...but here are mille fleur, porcelain, and bantam sultan for you...i also got buff laced polish which turned out nice.
