Right now we only have seven full-grown hens. We had a mass butcher of older non-laying hens and (obviously non-laying) roosters last November, and we just received an order of 15 adorable chicks from Hoover's Hatchery to re-stock our severely diminished flock (before November we had around 45-50 chickens).

This is Esther, one of my favorite chickens (but now dead, and has been for a while). She was born on our farm and is a Cochin/Americana mix.

Jochabed (is that how you spell it?) one of our current seven chickens. She's a Delaware.

And Rebecca, another one of the seven chickens we have now.
