[Not so] Patiently waiting for the chicks we ordered from Meyer Hatchery (we ordered for a hatch date of April 29, so we have a ways to go yet). I have a pretty solid idea for what most of the chicks will look like, but we ordered one olive egger and from website photos it's a wildcard as to what that one's look like.

In the meantime, indulge me and share pictures of your olive Eggers. Adult or chicks, I just wanna look at pretty birds!
Here you go. Pics of my Olive Eggers 😃

Lovely Limu is all grown up and was the first of the flock to start laying at 24 weeks! We got our first olive egg on Oct 16

She seems to lay every 3rd day

My OE rooster, his two bearded OE ladies, and my molting cream legbar. All of them were from Meyer.

Two more of my meyer OE's, with another cream legbar in the background. The lighter OE lays blue eggs, though.

All of the above hens are about 2 years old, my roosters about a year and a half old.

One of my F2 OE's I bred from my birds. Mom is probably one of the cream legbars, dad is either the OE rooster or the cuckoo maran. The bulk of my 2nd generation hens are about 8 months old.

Another of the F2 OE's I bred. Dad is likely the blue copper maran roo.

My youngest OE pullet, one of two that were hatched in the coop & raised by my broody hens. Her first mommy (one of the bearded ladies) abandoned her at 3 weeks and one of the lighter OE's that lost her chick a few days earlier adopted her & finished raising her.

Two more of the F2 OE's. The one in the foreground is the second bearded / cresed bird I hatched. The one in the background looks like a goth cream legbar.

The bulk of my generation 2 OE's have that blue copper maran coloring of black fading to blue-gray at the tail. This is my one genetic anomaly, "Ghost." She's also a bit shy and molting. Curiously in spite of the light feathering she's one of two of the younger that lays a dark olive-green egg.

The bird in the forground is about a year old, with one of the 8-month-olds in the background.

This F2 OE got the most copper feathering out of the lot.

The same hen with her likely papa strutting into the scene, my blue copper maran roo.
