Thanks. I'm entering a few in a couple of shows this year. I just got them blood tested yesterday.

Do you have to get then tested to enter them? I have no clue how it works

I currently have 3 cockerels Oster is my oldest at 23 weeks. He is the only one that hatched on my first incubation I named him Oster because he was born inside a modified Oster brand toaster oven. He is a barnyard mix I believe leghorn x ISA brown


I also have 2 black copper marans that I hatched out they are 8 1/2 weeks old and still unnamed.

Yes they need to be blood tested to make sure they are not sick or anything

How on earth do you get blood from a chicken? Goats I can do, horses I can do, heck I can even do a person, but chickens…? Nope

They poke the vein under the wing with a needle then collect the blood in a little container.

Sometimes they'll clip a nail to the quick if they only need a few droplets
