I love everyone's theme names!

This is Natasha. She lays a beautiful pastel green egg.

I only have one layer, and a dozen of her babies from marans fathers feathering out in my bedroom right now. I am shooting for olive eggers. Her is Muffy, and her eggs.

I can't WAIT to see the next generation of olive eggs! They should be even darker colored! I bought this hen out of a pen that was filled with mostly marans, and over a dozen different marans roosters, mostly cuckoo, but also some copper black, birchen, and splash. Some of her babies are feather legged, which sort of narrows it down to which roo is their daddy, as there was only one feather legged cuckoo roo in there with her. She had not started laying when I bought her, but started laying just about a week later. I went ahead and incubated every egg she laid, just HOPING they would be fertile, and by golly, they WERE! I think i tripped in it and came out smelling like a rose on this one... but only time will tell. I will try to get a pic of her babies, but they are pretty wild. I am not trying to tame them, just grow them out. I figure they will tame down themselves when they get underfoot and get fed with big chickens that are tame.
