One of my geese went broody and was doing a miserable job, being a first timer and all. Eggs were developing, but would die after a few days. I stuck four of the goose eggs under a broody muscovy hen, returning the eggs to the goose a few days before they were expected to hatch, and lo and behold, 4 goslings hatched yesterday! They're either embdens, American buffs, or a mix of the two.

I am so glad to read this! I just brought 6 Muscovy ducklings home today to try this in the future. Muscovys seem to be great mothers. My female goose is a yearling and wants nothing to do with eggs or goslings.

No goslings for me this year, yours are too precious!

My goslings honkers and squeaks since the one snores. Not sure what breed

They look like mine before they feathered out this year!

Two males to add to our flock. A Dewlap Toulouse and a Sebastopol.

Aww-so so cute! Before I got my two young geese now which I think are white Chinese I wanted to get a Sebastopol. Keep us updated on what it’s like to raise one if you don’t mind.

Can you tell when they are goslings whether they will have the dewlap or not?

When they hatch there a little more pudgy under the bill than a production. Some within 3 weeks but about 6 is when they are a little more predominate. about 12 weeks I have a good idea if they will develop a good one. But really they get bigger the older they get year by year. This is 3 girls from last year at 8 weeks
