This is Nugget and she is a 9 month old Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. This is my first time experiencing a hard molt and same for her too. I feel so bad for her

Poor girl! She must be freezing.Chicken Nugget missed this contest and decided to drop all her fathers in the middle of a cold front. Poor little booger.View attachment 4021735View attachment 4021736View attachment 4021737
Sadly, she is! Itās 10f this morning and lightly snowing. I opted to leave the coop door closed for her for a few hours today and the heater on. Poor gal, sheās just shivering even with heat!Poor girl! She must be freezing.
Aww poor girl! My Nugget is still dropping feathers like they're hot also. I have a heat lamp set up just for her to go and warm up under. I sit in the run with them sometimes and my Rooster is the snuggliest goof ball and will literally do anything for these hens. Up to and including letting Nugget borrow his tail feathers for a hat.Chicken Nugget missed this contest and decided to drop all her fathers in the middle of a cold front. Oh, poor girl! By any chance was these pictures taken this year (2025)? If yes, save them for the next molt contest this Fall.Chicken Nugget missed this contest and decided to drop all her fathers in the middle of a cold front. Aw cute! Share a picture if you can get one! I literally was sure this girl wasnāt gonna molt and then about 3 days ago she just dropped everything!Aww poor girl! He just looks at her and stands there.
Haven't seen poop down the back of her yet so I assume he's being a gentleman about it.![]()
Great idea! Yes. She started on like 1/3/25, so just perfect timing.Oh, poor girl! By any chance was these pictures taken this year (2025)? If yes, save them for the next molt contest this Fall.![]()
